Bangkok is a city that people either love it or hate it and when travelling to Thailand, some people want to get to their final destination, whether that is the islands or the north of the country. If you have no interest in exploring the fascinating city of Bangkok and want to get straight down to the beach after you land, there are a few options that are available to you. Below are some of the ways that you can get down to your dream islands without having to spend too much time in Bangkok.
Fly Straight Away
One option that is available to you is to fly direct to your next destination after you land in Suvarnabhumi, Bangkok. However, you are going to have to leave yourself plenty of time to pass through immigration, collect your luggage, and check-in for your next flight. The domestic destinations at Suvarnabhumi are limited, as most domestic flights go from the other airport, Don Muang, so you may need to travel here to catch you flight. If you think you are going to be cutting it close to make your flight, there are other options you can consider.
Stay For A Night
If you are going to have limited time and are going to struggle to make a flight after you land, then you may wish to stay for a night in a hotel close to the airport. It is simple to find a hotel near Suvarnabhumi airport with suite rooms where you can relax and get ready for the next leg of your journey. After having a shower, some sleep, and some good food, your batteries will be recharged and prepared to head to the beach, and you will only be a few minutes taxi drive from the airport.
Jump On A Bus
If you have no patience and want to get moving as quickly as you can after you land, you can always opt to take a bus to the islands. The buses in Thailand run around the clock so no matter what time of day you land you can jump on a bus and start your journey. If you are heading from Bangkok to Phuket or Koh Samui, the journey may take as long as twelve hours, so you must be prepared to sit on a bus for an extended amount of time.
Take A Train
Another option you can choose is to take a train to the islands, although you will need to take a ferry or boat to get to your destination as well. The trains are like buses in that they are travelling throughout the day, but getting from the airport to the train station in Bangkok can take an hour or so by taxi, and if it is raining the traffic is worse so can take longer.
